SDMBA Needs Your Your Help
The San Diego Mountain Bike Association needs your help! Our trails have been hit tremendously hard by wildfires over the last few years. This great organization has been making great strides in restoring and maintaining trails throughout the county. San Diego is one of the fittest cites in the nation and we all enjoy the outgoing lifestyle our temperate climate allows for. As such our trail systems see a lot of use and many of them are continually threatened with the encroachment of development and non-biker interests groups. The San Diego Mountain Bike Association is our primary local advocacy group and they are doing a great job. Take a look at this letter from the President of the Association detailing some of the recent accomplishments of SDMBA.
While SDMBA would certainly love to have you help out with trail work, they really need your membership. Your membership will not simply just help financially it will also help to increase the already outstanding reputation of the organization as membership totals are bolstered. We all live busy lives and may not always be able to find the time to get out for trailwork, but I think most of us could find a few bucks to have our recreational interests represented. The cost for a single year of membership is less than the cost of an average mountain bike tire. It is less than the cost of a new set of brake pads or a pair of gloves. For less than the cost of a half-dozen or so visits to Starbuck's you can help the voice of mountain bikers be better heard. You do not need to be a die-hard mountain biker or even a enthusiast. If you enjoy occasionally getting out on any trail on any type of bike, you should join. Many of SDMBA's sponsoring bike shops offer discounts to members that could easily save you more money annually than the cost of membership. You will be helping SDMBA, while you help yourself.
